Experience Northern California

Our Wine & Waves Vacation promises a breathtaking variety of scenery partnered with boutique winery stops and world-class dining. On this cycling vacation, you'll experience the satisfying sense of accomplishment that comes from cycling point-to-point from one great Northern California destination to the next.

On your first day of cycling you'll experience both Napa and Sonoma, highlighting the Carneros wine-growing region that straddles the two valleys. Day two will take you from historic Sonoma to the quaint coastal town of Bodega Bay. You'll head back inland on your third day of cycling, following the Russian River as it winds a redwood-lined path into Healdsburg. From there, you'll explore Calistoga, famous for its status as the "Hot Springs of the West." Finally, you'll come full circle on your last day of riding as you traverse most of the length of the Napa Valley and experience the diverse wine-growing regions along the way.

Believe us: that's just a taste of what's in store for you on this trip! For a detailed look at the day-to-day of this vacation, please check out the Sample Itinerary.

Cycle a Little... Or A Lot!
Two or three cycling routes between 20 and 60 miles are offered each day on this trip. This means that a “spouse or friend of an avid cyclist” will have ample opportunity to ride and be included in the group, but still have the option to bail out earlier in the day and head to the hotel to relax by the pool or enjoy a spa treatment. On the flip side, if you're hungry for extra miles, your guide is happy to provide you with a turn-by-turn route map so you can venture off and take the "long way home."

Each day, you may choose to cycle along with the group hosted by your tour guide or you're welcome to start earlier or later on your own and go self-guided. Feel free stop at our recommended points of interest or cycle on ahead. Have lunch with the group or opt for that quaint, local place you discover along the way. This is ultimately your vacation... we're just here to support and guide you along the way!

...And a Sound Night's Rest
Our Wine & Waves vacation features clean, comfortable hotel rooms, ensuring that a serene retreat awaits you after each day of riding.

You’ll also enjoy dining at the best restaurants along the route. We choose restaurants that exude the character of the regions we're exploring and also emphasize local ingredients. For full details, please turn to the Hotels & Pricing page.
