Day 1
(Arrival Day)
Welcome to Napa Valley! Napa Valley Bike Tours is your first stop upon arrival to Napa Valley. While you’re at the shop, we'lll ensure the bikes we've reserved for you are a proper fit and ready for your first bike tour tomorrow. Depending on your arrival time, you may even have time to take them out for a spin around town before dinner. Or, we can steer you to some nearby attractions.
Hotel check-in will be sometime between 3 and 4 p.m. Your dinner reservation will be at one of Napa Valley's top-rated restaurants.
*Note: If you are able to arrive at our shop by 9:30 a.m. on your Arrival Day, this can your first day of bike touring (instead of your Departure Day).
Day 2
After breakfast, you will arrive at our shop for your first guided Ride, Wine & Dine Bike Tour of the vineyards. We will start pedaling at about 10 a.m. Rest assured, our tours cater to the the tourist, not the cyclist.* The pace is casual, and the emphasis is on absorbing the scenery and sampling great wine.
Each bicycle tour covers approximately 15-20 miles, visiting four wineries, with a catered lunch served at the third winery overlooking the vineyards. Tours typically make it back to our shop between 3 and 5 p.m., so you’ll have time to unwind and relax before dinner at another great Napa Valley restaurant.
*You should know, we definitely have plenty of options to satisfy riders looking for more challenging terrain or extra mileage. Take a look at our Wine Country Workout Ride (described under Day 3).
Day 3
After breakfast, you'll join us for your second guided Ride, Wine & Dine Tour of the vineyards. Each day you’re on tour with us, we’ll ensure you are on a different route with fresh scenery to enjoy and new wineries to visit.
Most of our vacation guests choose to stick with our daily Ride, Wine & Dine Bike Tours. But if you’re looking for more of an exercise-paced ride, we invite you to try our Wine Country Workout Ride. Our shop staff will set you up with a customized route map – catered to your specifications for mileage & terrain – so you can begin the day with 20‐30 self-guided “workout” miles, then meet up with the Ride, Wine & Dine Tour riders for lunch at a local winery. After lunch, you’ll join the Ride, Wine & Dine Tour for the remainder of the day, which will include a few more casual miles and one more winery stop.
You'll head to Sonoma after today's bike tour. It's about about a 30-minute drive (we will provide transport; or if you prefer, you're welcome to drive your rental car). After settling into your Sonoma hotel, you'll enjoy dinner at a terrific restaurant just a short walk away.
Day 4
We'll meet after breakfast this morning for your third guided bike tour. On one of your tour days (not necessarily today), we’d like you to experience our Cycling "IN" the Vineyards Tour. You will be outfitted with mountain bikes for this excursion (don’t worry, the terrain isn’t technical) and we’ll take you to the Carneros wine-growing region where you will enjoy the unique chance to bike off-road through the vineyard property at one of our favorite wineries. Many of our guests tell us this unique adventure was the unexpected highlight of their trip!
And at the end of another great day, another great meal will follow at a top-rated Sonoma restaurant. Day 5
(Departure Day)
After finishing up your packing, we'll meet for your final guided bicycle tour of the vineyards. This time, we’ll tour the scenic country roads and discover the wineries of Sonoma. After the tour, we will provide transport back to Napa (either to your rental car parked at our shop, or to the Evans Airport Shuttle). We're also happy to help you arrange to ship any purchases made during your stay.
